Anyone else have gestational diabetes?

I had a 1 hour glucose test, which was high, so the doctor wants me to do a 3-hour one. I was wondering if anyone had gestational diabetes. How it affects your diet, lifestyle, baby? Is diabetes remain after birth, and went away?
